Who we are
Khumi Children’s Village is a nonprofit organization. Our main purpose is to provide support to orphans, vulnerable children and to needy people.
The name Khumi (cumi) comes from the Bible in Mark 5:41 where it says;
“And he took the little girl by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Little girl, I say unto you, arise.
Our goal is to lift up the children so they can “arise” and have hope – a living, viable, and valuable future.
Our founder is Mrs. Iness Kakompe Simwawa who with her husband Elias are extending love and kindness to the orphans and underprivileged persons in Kitwe, Zambia Africa.
